About the Role
We’re looking for a part-time Receptionist to join our small, team-oriented tax firm, offering a consistent weekly schedule and some flexibility. Typical hours are Wednesday 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM and Thursday – Friday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (with some flexibility as needed). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and being the face of the office. You’ll support day-to-day operations by managing the front desk, organizing tax documents, assisting with e-filing and billing, and preparing client deliverables. You’ll play a key role in keeping the office running smoothly while providing a professional and welcoming experience for clients.
Schedule
Wednesday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Thursday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some flexibility within reason)
Key Responsibilities
Greet clients and manage front desk operations, including answering phones and directing inquiries
Scan and organize taxpayer documents into internal systems with a high level of accuracy
Electronically file (e-file) tax returns in accordance with firm procedures
Prepare, issue, and process client invoices and billing documentation
Collect and record payments (cash, checks, and other forms) while maintaining proper documentation
Assemble and prepare completed tax returns (both digital and paper copies) for client delivery
Coordinate client pickups and ensure timely distribution of returns and related documents
Maintain organized records and support administrative tasks across the office as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1+ year of receptionist or administrative experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfortable with basic billing, payments, and office software
Professional communication and client service skills
Ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality
